This required ninth grade course includes reading and analyzing literature from a variety of genre. Effective strategies will be employed to construct meaning in reading technical documents. Students will have experience in writing for a variety of purposes and in a variety of styles. The focus of work in grammar of will be on coherence through use of effective transitions and sentence variety.
Students will deliver an informative presentation, either individually or as part of a small group and an individual process/demonstration speech. They will learn to listen to opposing views/arguments and formulate a valid opinion. Students will produce a research product, demonstrating necessary research skills.
